Mint
Mint is a trading floor operating
company, whose website declares "Mint's business objective
is to provide best execution for customers and 'best-in-class'
facilities to its traders enabling them to facilitate a quality
service."
The company commissioned Just
Solutions Ltd to prepare the new open plan offices which they
were going to occupy in the City of London. The task meant installation
of all electrical systems and data network for the operation of,
initially, up to 88 trading positions.
The system design defined a comms
room at one end of the floor, secured away from the operational
area and then structured cabling to feed all the necessary services
to each of the proposed trading desk sites. Every desk was to
be equipped with twin workstations, each using twin screens together
with high speed data transmission for both direct trading links
and internet access. Office telephone, mobile charging facility
and laptop network access completed the desks equipment.
In addition to the data comms
Just Solutions also designed and installed an access control system
using biometric readers, working in conjunction with a Paxton
Net 2 control system. At the time this configuration was ground
breaking and Just Solutions' engineers were instrumental in solving
the teething problems and hence ensuring a robust system.
Further to those installations
Just Solutions were also solely responsible for both the cctv
and the audio-visual display systems throughout the offices. All
small offices were fed with satellite tv displayed on Plasma screens
to provide access to the current financial information as required
by the occupiers. In all Just Solutions were responsible for all
the electronic and electrical systems and services in the company
right down to supplying the kettle! |
